Raytheon ELCAN and CLH Foundation: Empowering
Young Minds Through STEM Initiatives
The team at Raytheon ELCAN is deeply committed to empowering
individuals with diverse abilities to reach their full potential, with a
focus on lifelong learning - a mission that is shared by the team at CLH.
In 2024, CLH Foundation was awarded a Raytheon RTX Adapt grant
to support the Teen/TAY Fund with a goal of furthering learning
opportunities and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
(STEM) initiatives. In May, the inaugural CLH + ELCAN Science Fair
was launched with a goal of sparking an interest in learning and a
passion for STEM, to develop confidence and build new skills in this
group of young learners (and build some cool stuff!) Five excellent and
innovative team projects were presented, and were scored by highly
enthusiastic judges.
Over many weeks, ELCAN volunteers supported the development of
the overall project: the design of the experiments, leading workshops
to test the experiments and hypotheses, assisted with presentation
and judging on Science Fair day, and even designed and produced the
award medallions for the participants.
The RTX Adapt grant will also fund ongoing monthly STEM activities
for this group, which will build on the momentum of the Science Fair,
and introduce new participants to hands-on STEM activities.
Thank you TEAM ELCAN!
In recognition of their tremendous dedication, the Raytheon ELCAN volunteers who led the TAY STEM program have been
awarded the 2025 Tom Kayser CLH Foundation Volunteer Award.
