                                                                 be very challenging for
                                                                 children with Autism. To
                                                                 date there are four partners
                                                                 collaborating to deliver this
                                                                 program in Simcoe County: CLH DSS,
                                                                 Children’s Treatment Network, Empower
                                                                 Simcoe, and Mackenzie Health.
                                                                 The program includes:
                                                                  1.  A six-month, group program that focuses on
                                                                    helping children develop school-readiness skills in
                                                                    communication, play, social interaction, behavioural
                                                                    self-management, and learning and attention.
                                                                  2. At the conclusion of the group program, children will
                                                                    receive individual transition supports as they enter
                                                                    school, including targeted consultations with Entry to
                                                                    School program staff during their first six months in
                                                                    school, as needed.

                                                                 Our community of schools, care givers, educators and
                                                                 parents are very excited about the Entry to School
                                                                 (ETS) program – it provides a focused approach to help
                                                                 children prepare to attend school. The ETS learning
                                                                 spaces replicate a kindergarten classroom so that the
                                                                 child becomes familiar with classroom and routines
                                                                 ahead of going to school. CLH DSS opened ETS
                                                                 classrooms in Alliston, Barrie, and Midland in Spring 2022.
                                                                 Parents of children in the program are very positive about
                                                                 the impact it has had. One shared: “I could not have
                                                                 asked for anything better for my son…[I] will be forever
                                                                 grateful with how and what they have taught my child
                                                                 during this program.”


                                                                 Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Programs (CMEY)
                                                                 The CMEY Programs support families with young children
                                                                 registered in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) between
                                                                 the ages of 12 months and 48 months. As a YSAN partner,
                                                                 The Children’s Treatment Network takes the lead in the
                                                                 intake process for YSAN and supports families to choose
                                                                 the best program suited for their child’s needs. The PLAY
                                                                 Project is one of the three programs delivered by YSAN
                                                                 in Simcoe County and York Region. In partnership with
                                                                 Preschool Speech and Language Pathologists from
