Midland Civitans: CLH Foundation
Volunteers of the Year
The Tom Kayser CLH Foundation Volunteer Award honours an individual who volunteers and
gives generously of their time and effort to support CLH Foundation by serving on a committee,
helping at fundraising events, or representing CLH Foundation as an ambassador at community
events.
We are very grateful for volunteers, as they play a critical role in raising awareness and support
for CLH programs and initiatives. This year, we’re delighted to present the Tom Kayser CLH
Foundation Award to the Midland Civitan Club, in recognition of its ongoing partnership support,
and its positive impact on CLH-supported individuals.
Here are just a few of the ways that the members of the Midland Civitan Club
make a difference to the CLH community:
• Their annual support of activities, treats and pumpkins makes Halloween
at CLH a highlight of the fall season.
• During pandemic times, the club made sure that individuals who lived in
Supported Living Homes had plentiful supplies of arts, crafts and outdoor
games to make being “Together at Home” a fun and enjoyable place to be.
• At the Bonspiel Bonanza, Civitans spend the day working with us as
volunteers and help to make the bonspiel a tremendous success. They also
sponsor the participation of the Special Olympics Huronia Curling Teams.
• During the inaugural Curling Day in Canada event at the Midland Curling
Club – which benefited CLH Foundation but happened to coincide with
our annual Red Carpet Broadcast – the Midland Civitans and their Special
Olympics Curling Team stepped in to represent us, and did so with great
flair!
• Most recently, the Civitans sponsored two members of Special Olympics Huronia who
were participating in Walk This Way for CLH – doubling the impact of their generosity and
showing once again the Civitan Club’s commitment to community.
